A superb c1830 English percussion pistol in near mint condition with octagonal damascus barrel and top signed London in decorative gilt lettering. Fine quality chequered wooden grip, the blued metal lock plate is signed 'Proudman' and it is decorated with floral designs as is the hammer and cock. The action is very strong and crisp. The pistol is fitted with two silver escutcheons (one on the back of the grip and the other one on the side) one of which has the original owners engraved initials. Silver trigger guard with matching floral engraving.The pistol is fitted with a ramrod.
