These bayonets the Sudanese and Egypt campiagns as well as in South Africa during the Boer Wars. This is a rare 3 rivet, 1st type, 1st Pattern, P1888 Lee Metford Bayonet no scabbard and frog as used by British troops during the Boer Wars. It has its original wooden grips with the rare 3 brass rivets and oil holes in the wood grips. The bayonet is in original as found uncleaned condition. Its 12" double edged blade with medial ridge has inspection marks at the ricasso together with 1871-1898 dates and the pommel is stamped.
