The King's Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI) participated in the 2nd Boer War through its 2nd Battalion, which served from 1899-1902. The battalion was part of the British offensive in 1900, including the capture of Pretoria, and later engaged in anti-insurgency operations. Two Shropshire Volunteer Service Companies also supported the war effort from 1900-1902.
