***New In***A Koto Period Naginata/ Haramaki Naoshi Wakizashi in Koshirae.
Koto period example (pre-1596).
Signed: Kaneyuki (兼行) or Kanemune (兼宗).
Hamon visible in places but obscured as the sword is in old polish and this has becaome quite cloudy. The balde has a beautiful Sori and is of the style referred to as Naginata/ Haramaki Naoshi.
This is a good candidate for conservation and is mounted in a nice early Koshirae that needs consevation too, but what a lovley project to have! The Saya is beautifully laquered and inlaid with luninous speckles of green abolone which are beautifulland cannot be fully appreciated from the pictures and needs to be held in the light.
Lots of activity can be observed in the blade, but this would be drastically improved with a professional polish, which we can faciliate, if required.
An inexpensive, honest example here that has not been messed around wiith.
