Welcome to Armoury Antiques and Binky’s Barn

This is a dual website with two distinct shopping experiences. ‘Armoury Antiques and Militaria’ deal with all things related to swords, daggers, armour and military collectables, whilst ‘Binky’s Barn’ is the vintage furniture and kitchenalia side of our business that will be up and running in 2019 and specialising in up-cycling vintage furniture as well as stocking antique curios.

I have been training, living and visiting Japan since the age of 11 and have unique contacts and experience there. In addition, I have been collecting and appraising Japanese swords, armour and fittings for over 30 years and have unique associations in Japan. The site is a commercial and educational website dealing in quality Japanese swords, armour, fittings, artwork and general worldwide militaria. I am always glad to share my knowledge and help anyone to learn about swords, fittings and militaria. We have the following affiliations/ memberships:

Armoury Antiques and Binky’s Barn are based in Devon (on Dartmoor in fact - Hound of The Baskevilles country!) and have a retail premises packed full of quality antique arms and armour as well as antiques and retro collectables. Clients are welcome to visit us at our shop which is based at Shop 4, Tavistock Stannary Market, Tavistock, Devon - we are open form Tuesday to Saturday 0930-1600 hrs. We accept all major credit and debit cards. The Tavistock Stannary market in Tavistock is a special place having been initiated by King Edward I in 1305. Tavistock is one of 3 Devonshire Stannary market towns (Tavistock, Ashburton and Chagford). You can also visit us at the many shows we attend all over the United Kingdom (please check our blog for details). We hope you enjoy our website and feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. 

*Please note: that we will not post antique or pre-1954 Japanese swords, daggers or other edged weapons as we need proof that you are over 18 years of age to comply with the current law (and new (2018) legislation about to come in)) to do with edged weapons. We will not send edged weapons to private addresses. However, we do offer free local delivery within 25 miles or charge for delivery (to be negotiated with client). Alternatively, you can reserve and collect the item from the many national fairs we attend (see our Blog) or collect items from the Pannier Market. 

All other non-bladed antiques can be posted Worldwide. UK postage is included in the cost of any item featured on our website with the exception of large furniture.
