***Royal Marine Arthur Wakefield-Smith - Borneo and Aden Veteran***
It is with much sadness that we must inform our friends and clients that our dearest friend, Royal Marine Arthur Wakefield-Smith, passed away this afternoon (10/01/2024). Arthur was known by many people and was an exceptional character and historian.
Arthur served in Borneo and Aden and shared many of his adventures, stories and experiences with us, which were both harrowing and in some cases, hilariously funny! In addition, Arthur was a fully qualified Navy Diver, Parachute trained and worked in numerous Government services. He had a remarkable life and we will never forget his stories and his adventures in 'Boogie Street'!
He was a gentleman and we loved him dearly - we pray and hope that he is with his lady wife Shirley who he had lost some years ago and loved dearly.
Arthur will be remembered by us with great affection and we will miss him very much. God bless you Arthur gods speed and rest in peace my friend.
