Please read our conditions of sale carefully. They are not excessively demanding and are there to ensure safe trading between us. Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights. They will be updated as and when issues are raised and best practice identified.

Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn do not offer for sale any item that requires any form of license to possess within the United Kingdom (UK) or license to export from the UK. We sell all items for historical interest and the preservation of art and crafts. None of the items offered for sale relate to our political, personal viewpoints or beliefs and are sold as historical artifacts only. Please note: We will require documentary evidence that you are over 18 years of age to comply with the current legislation when purchasing any edged weapons or antique flintlock/ percussion items. Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn reserves the right to decline to trade with or sell any items to prospective clients at their discretion.

1.  Business Hours and Visitors.

1:1 Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn are open for business between 9:00am to 3:00pm on Tuesday's and Wednesday to Saturday 10:00am to 4:00 pm. Orders can be placed via the website 24/7 (by email) and will be processed as soon as practicable. We offer free local delivery within 25 miles or charge for delivery (to be negotiated with client) or you can reserve and collect the item from the many national fairs we attend or collect from the Pannier Market. All other non-bladed items can be posted Worldwide.  

1:2 Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn have a retail premises and you are welcome to visit us at:  4 The Pannier Market (Perimeter Shops), Tavistock, Devon. PL19 0AL.

1:3 Customers should contact the office direct by either telephone or e-mail to arrange a mutually convenient appointment of travelling some distance..

2. Guarantee.

2:1 We endeavour to describe all items fully and accurately and with the aid of photographs provide a clear view of each item and its condition.  We offer a guarantee that if a customer is not satisfied in any way with the item or items received the item or items can be returned for a full, no quibble, refund within 7 days.

2:2 Customers should be aware that changes in their circumstances; indecision or merely ‘changing their mind’ following receipt of goods will not entitle them to a refund.

2:3 Please note that although we make every effort to keep our website up-to-date it is possible that an item offered for sale may have been sold or become unavailable before we have updated the site. In this case we will advise you accordingly and return any payment made and work with you to find an alternative.

2:4 We must be informed by telephone or email that the item is to be returned as soon as possible after it has been received. In the case of UK based customers returns must be made within 7 days of receipt. European based customers within 10 days of receipt. All other parts of the World within 14 days of receipt of order.

2:5 All payments made, with the exception of postage costs, will be refunded. All items returned must be in the same condition as dispatched, if there is any damage, alteration, disassembly, scientic analysis/ sampling or tampering then Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn reserves the right to decline to refund any payment.

3. Payment Options.

3:1 We accept all major credit and debit cards with the exception of American Express (AMEX). 

3:2. We also accept credit/ debit card, chip and pin, and contactless payments in person. Goods ordered from the website can be paid for using a credit/ debit card by contacting us during our advertised business hours. 

3:3 Cheques, postal orders, sterling international money orders, should be made out to Armoury Antiques and Militaria. Sterling cash, € and $ cash, at an agreed exchange rate, are also accepted. Cash payments should be sent by recorded or special delivery to our shop address.

3:4 Registered Address for correspondence and payments to our antique shop as advertised here. 

3:5 Direct bank transfers (preferred payment method), in sterling only, are accepted; please contact us for our business account detials and IBAN/ SWIFT numbers.

3:6 Overseas customers may also make payment with a Sterling International money order.

3:7 Unless an order is subject to a previously agreed lay-away plan (Section 5) payment is due immediately. As a general rule no item will be reserved without a 25% deposit.

3:8 New customers please allow 10 days for bank clearance on your remittance before dispatch is affected. Thereafter, returning customers may expect dispatch by return of post.

4. Postage and Shipping.

*Orders will not be dispatched until full payment has been received. Please note that we will not post antique or pre-1954 Japanese swords, swords, daggers or other edged weapons as we need proof that you are over 18 years of age to comply with the current law (and new legislation coming out) to do with all edged weapons. We will not send items to private addresses. We offer free local delivery within 25 miles or charge for delivery (to be negotiated with client) or you can reserve and collect the item from the many national fairs we attend or collection from the Pannier Market). All other non-bladed antiques can be posted Worldwide.

4:1 When purchasing from the shopping basket on the website the total amount includes all UK domestic shipping charges. 

4:2 We reserve the right to surcharge any orders that are of an extreme weight or size. Normally a note to the effect that ‘delivery will be by arrangement and at cost’ is added to description of any stock item, which falls into this category.

4:3 Deliveries outside the UK will be subject to an additional cost, which will be detailed and agreed at the time of order.

4:4 Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn does not accept responsibility for un-insured damage, loss in transit or breakages, which occur once goods have been dispatched. We take every care to pack items safely for posting. We always obtain proof of postage and where possible utilise special or recorded delivery in the UK. For international orders sent by Royal mail we use trackable ‘Airsure’ or ‘International Signed For’ priority airmail. Once posted we cannot control delivery however, we can prove that items have been sent. Please ask for additional insurance if you require it.

4:5 Deliveries within the UK will be by Royal Mail and Parcelforce. Full details and costs will be supplied at the time of ordering.

4:6 Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn will export most goods offered for sale worldwide; however, this is subject to any legal restrictions that may exist in the country of destination and the UK. Purchasers must confirm that the items ordered can legally be imported and possessed in the country to which they are being sent. The purchaser of any items ordered must indemnify Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn from any legal requirement at the point of order/ delivery.

4:7 Goods that we believe may cause disruption to the postal service when sent via airmail will be dismantled and sent surface mail. Such items will be accompanied by confirmation that those good are safe.

4:8 Currently deactivated weapons, antique weapons, edged weapons, air rifles – under 12 FPS and air pistols – under 6 FPS. Do not require any export licence by the UK authorities.

4:9 A full pack of transit documents will be affixed to the outside of any package containing an antique weapon for the benefit of customs agencies within the EU.

5. Reserved Goods/ Layaway Plan.

5:1 Subject to a 25% non-returnable deposit, goods may be reserved and paid for on our ‘Layaway’ scheme. This is not a higher purchase agreement and no additional costs are involved.

5:2 As a general rule, on ordering and agreeing to purchase on the ‘Layaway’ plan 25% of the total is required and the balance within 3 months of the deposit being paid. Payment can be made at any time up to and including the 3-month period.

5:3 Orders will be despatched following receipt of the outstanding balance.

5:4 Defaults on payment will result in the return of payments made less the initial deposit. In these circumstances deposits are forfeit; they are not transferrable to other goods or customers.

6. Commission Sales.

6:1 Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn will undertake commission sales. However, we reserve the right to accept or decline goods offered to us on this basis. The standard of militaria must adhere to the quality and originality of comparable militaria already advertised on our site.

6:2 The sale price will be agreed between the vendor and Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn prior to the item being offered for sale.

6:3 The minimum charge for this service is 25% of the sale price of each item or £50, whichever is the greater. This includes all costs, advertising, administrative charges and postage; there are no additional charges.

6:4 Following a sale payment of the remittance will normally follow the ‘return period’ specified in section 2 under our Guarantee.

6:5 Should the vendor request the return of their items prior to sale, following listing and advertising, the minimum fee of £50.00 per item will be payable to Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn to cover the costs of administration and advertising prior to their return.

7. VAT.

7:1 Armoury Antiques and Militaria and Binky’s Barn will use the second hand and antique dealers Special Margin Scheme.

7:2 Customers are not charged VAT on any item that they purchase from Armoury Antiques and Militaria or Binky’s Barn and NO VAT is recoverable by them on items purchased from Armoury Antiques and Militaria or Binky’s Barn.
