Description

Purchased directly from the family along with three generations of Naval and Army swords, uniforms and other militaria. All with provenance and fresh to the market.

Owned by Major Roe (Retd).
 
Major Roe bought this sword for himself from a long serving fellow Gurkha officer (Captain (QGO) Queens Gurkha Officers)) whose initials are on the blade - his name was:
 
Nar Bahadur Limbu (NBL) - 10th Gurkha Rifles
 
NBL must have served for at least 28 years because at 18 years he would have obtained the sword. Narbahadur carried this sword for 10 years. 
 
Major Roe (Retd) served from 1972-2008 and served 14 years in Hong Kong, 3 years in Nepal, 2.5 years in Germany (two tours), two tours of Brunei, 6 months in South Africa, 4 months Northern Ireland, 2 months Cyprus and backwards and forward to the UK between these periods.
