WW2 3rd Pattern (1943-1945) FS Dagger.
A very nice WW2 period (1943-1945) 3rd pattern FS dagger. The top of the hilt is stamped number '2' (mould number), ribbed grip and plain thick cross guard. The blade is in excellent original condition. Scabbard is original to the piece. Wilkinson hand forged/ ground example for export for India service. This is a mid war exampe with the MoS inspection mark of the Crows Foot and 'I' denoting Indian Government ownership. This was part of an order of 2,500 daggers on the 17th December 1943 supplied by Wilkinson. This marking is always found on the grip side of the cross guard. When this order was made by The Indian Government asked for the blades to be delivered for inspection before mounting and also for speed of delivery no additional markings such as trade marks, etc.
A really interesting WW2 British commando knife here is excellent original condition.
