***New In***Koto (pre-1596) Shingunto Mounted Wakizashi.

A very nice example in excellent polishing overall condition. Mumei (unsigned), but interestingly with sword cut evidence to the Nakago (rare and desirable feature).  Early Shingunto mounts all in great condition and a nice original package.

***New In***Gendai-To by 'Chikuzen (No) Ju Nobumitsu' (筑州信光) in Civilian/ Military Koshirae.

His real name was 'Koyama Nobumitsu' and he was born during the Meiji period (25 Jan 1868- 30 Jul 1912) in 1873. He studied as a Tosho under 'Fukuoka-Ishido Koretoshi'. A good long L6 Katana in excellent condition and ready for use by a practitioner of Iai-Do or Tameshigiri.  The sword has a Nagasa of 72 cm (28.5 inches). Howards swords are world renowned for their quality and cutting abilities and are highly sought all over the world.

One of Ours! Nihon-To by Mukansa Tosho 'Yakuwa Yasutake'

Yakuwa Yasutake was born in 1909 in Yamagata Prefecture. In 1935 he became a swordsmith member of the Yasukumi Shrine. In 1944 he received his name of "Yasutake". In 1981 he received a Masamune prize for his work, the highest award for living swordsmiths and became a Mukansa. He passed away in 1983.  For reference only and not for sale. -...
